Sheli's Bio

Why should I hire this lady to help me

on my wedding day??

"Sheli Beck-Silveria is the calm and constant voice of reason during any whirlwind event. She possesses a sincere geniuness and warm hearted enthusiasm in making her priority anything and everything I need. Even when mirrors were not available my instinct trusted her detailed once-over and clear "you're ready" more than my own desire to see for myself.  I've seen her quick fire stitch together a dangerously ripped hem, fix the angle of my headpiece, and keep me perfectly calm, all while also making sure no one talked to me before my entrances.  Sheli is delightfully encouraging, shockingly prepared through all chaotic situations and is more near being a Fairy Godmother-like than human. I simply could not have had the performances on-stage and on-set without her expertise guidance.  Her assistance is priceless and she represented me better than I could have myself."

Born in St Louis - this Mother of two met her husband through the internet. A Rhode Island resident since 1989 - she married into a special family who has really shown her the meaning of why you should be married. Sheli's children are also a amazing part of her wonderful life spent surrounded by incredible friends.

Sheli moved to Newport in 1989 to work at The Astors' Beechwood Mansion. First she was one of the actor tour guides but she quickly gained a management role and started many of the successful programs they offer including the Victorian Christmas Feast. Sheli's part time job at Beechwood was assisting with wedding ceremonies. During her many years at Beechwood Sheli worked to create special events for groups of all sizes and her outgoing personality made her a part of the Newport hospitality industry team. Sheli left Beechwood in 2001 after the birth of her daughter. She has been doing ceremony planning for families since that time working with her dear friend the incredibly talented event stylist David Price.

Sheli began her career in professional theatre while still in high school working as a stage hand. She has been a backstage dresser for many Broadway and TV stars getting them dressed and pampered for their performances. She is skilled in quick changes, fast repairs; she thinks clearly in a crisis, has hair and make-up skills for touching up or refreshing. Sheli knows that whether you have 10 or 350 guests, on your wedding day you want to look your best and feel like royalty. She has the attention to detail to allow you to relax and enjoy your special day.
